Redbot pays 1.95x on reds. Reds have a 50% chance of occurring, so this creates a natural house edge of 2.5%. On individual bets, Redbot has a 50/50 chance of winning, but over the long run, Redbot is expected to generate a profit. It works just like a casino.

Redbot has no special access to bustabit or any sort of API access. We worked very hard on engineering Redbot and building a robust system that's able to automate user actions without any special privileges. It runs on a standalone server located close to bustabit's servers with advanced code and a full-fledged database, so we're able to give you that snappy smooth experience thanks to our team's technical wizardry.

Redbot needs to keep some distance between closing bets and the next round beginning to prevent potential exploits. We've calculated a safe amount of time to make exploits impossible. Reducing this time further would risk someone with knowledge of the next game placing a bet, allowing an advanced attacker to cheat us.

The max bet is set based on our risk parameters. If the max bet were too high, we'd risk going bankrupt, which wouldn't be ideal for anyone. The current limits are responsible and allow us to safely grow, as well as safely pay out large winnings to lucky players without worrying about variance. We hope to steadily increase the bankroll over time, but changing the max bet parameters in the code would be irresponsible from a risk management standpoint.

Redbot is a third-party bot unaffiliated with bustabit, so we need to pay tipping fees like everyone else. bustabit charges a fee of 1 bit per tip, which we need to pass on to users. It gets paid to bustabit, not us. For certain types of users, we try to subsidize these fees up to a daily limit, but it's not possible to extend this to everyone.
